Twenty-five years ago, a success story began in Deggendorf—one that still stands for precision, innovation, and pioneering spirit: the founding of GFH GmbH. The foundation was laid by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans Joachim Helml, who recognized the potential of laser micromachining early on. What was once considered an ambitious idea has grown into an internationally recognized high-tech company that today is redefining the boundaries of manufacturing.
At the heart of GFH’s work are ultrashort-pulse lasers, which enable materials to be processed with such finesse and accuracy that conventional methods reach their limits. Whether tiny drillings in medical implants, delicate structures in electronic components, or ultra-precise cuts for the watchmaking industry—the technology from Deggendorf is used across a wide range of sectors. Every project showcases the expertise of the engineers and technicians dedicated to perfecting micromachining.
The company has continuously evolved over the years. Under the leadership of Managing Director Florian Lendner, production space was expanded, a state-of-the-art environment was created, and the workforce grew to around 80 employees. Here, innovative strength and team spirit come together—two elements that have made GFH one of the key players in laser manufacturing in Germany.
But GFH is looking even further ahead: it’s not just about using technology, but about shaping the future. The combination of precision, sustainable manufacturing methods, and international focus makes the company a sought-after partner for customers worldwide.
“GFH has grown from a visionary start-up into a beacon of Bavaria’s high-tech landscape—and continues to write its story with every new project,” said IHK Vice President Toni Fink as he presented the honorary certificate from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
